Hello and welcome! My name is Richard Flanagan-Ashton.
For 28 years, I poured my heart into being a chef, creating memorable dishes and connecting with others through food. But 2.5 years ago, an accident took me out of the kitchen for good. In that moment, I was faced with the pain of change—a loss that felt deeply personal and difficult. Yet, I knew that I had to see this as an opportunity rather than a setback. I realized that change was not only necessary but also inevitable and, ultimately, critical to moving forward.
It was a challenging transition. Being a chef wasn’t just a career; it was part of who I was. But with the support of my family—my wife, Kelly; my son, Micah; and our two beloved dogs, Bella and Aurora—I found the strength to adapt and evolve. I turned to motivational stories, books, and speakers, seeking inspiration from others who had transformed obstacles into new beginnings. Gradually, I began to see this change as an opening to something more fulfilling.
This led me to create Elysibrew. Elysibrew is more than just coffee; it’s a carefully crafted experience, made for moments of peace, joy, and connection. Inspired by the balance, artistry, and intention I once found in the kitchen, Elysibrew embodies the same dedication to quality and detail in every cup. My vision is to create a blend of luxury and warmth, inviting people to pause, savor, and embrace the present moment.
This journey has shown me that change, while often painful, is transformative when embraced. Elysibrew is my new chapter—a way to share my journey and bring comfort, inspiration, and a touch of indulgence into each day. Thank you for being part of this experience.
